1. Overview
Mamori ("we", "our", "the service") provides AI-powered phone call coaching for foreigners living in Japan. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
2. Data We Collect
We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the service.
- Phone number you dial - Used only to connect your call via Twilio. Not stored on our servers after the call ends.
- Call purpose text - The short description you enter (e.g., "gas setup"). Used during the call to provide relevant coaching. Not stored after the session ends.
- Voice audio (during call only) - Streamed in real time to Deepgram for transcription. Not recorded or stored.
- Transcript text (during call only) - Sent to OpenAI for coaching suggestions. Not stored after the session ends.
- IP address - Used for rate limiting to prevent abuse. Not linked to any personal information. Cleared periodically.
3. Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not record calls
- We do not store transcripts after the session ends
- We do not require account creation or login
- We do not use cookies for tracking
- We do not sell or share personal data with advertisers
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to provide functionality:
- Twilio - Phone call connection. Twilio may retain call metadata (duration, phone numbers) per their own privacy policy.
- Deepgram - Real-time speech-to-text. Audio is streamed and not stored. See their privacy policy.
- OpenAI - AI coaching and summary generation. Text is sent via API and not used for model training per their API data usage policy. See their privacy policy.
- Cloudflare - Hosting and basic web analytics (page views, country). No personal data is collected. See their privacy policy.
5. Data Retention
All session data (transcripts, coaching history, call purpose) is held in server memory only during the active call and is automatically deleted within 10 minutes after the call ends. We do not maintain any database of user activity.
6. Security
- All connections are encrypted via HTTPS/WSS
- API endpoints are protected with session-based keys and rate limiting
- Emergency numbers (110, 119, etc.) are blocked
- Calls are limited to 5 minutes maximum
- Daily usage limits are enforced to prevent abuse
7. Your Rights
Since we do not store personal data beyond the active session, there is no persistent data to access, modify, or delete. If you have concerns about your data, please contact us.
8. Children
This service is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
10. Japanese Privacy Law (個人情報保護法)
This service operates in compliance with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (個人情報保護法). We do not collect or retain personal information (個人情報) as defined by the Act. All data processed during a call session is transient and automatically discarded. We do not maintain any personal information database (個人情報データベース等).
11. AI Disclaimer
The AI coaching provided by this service is for reference purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional translation, interpretation, or legal advice. AI suggestions may contain inaccuracies. Users are responsible for their own decisions and statements during phone calls. Mamori is not liable for any outcomes resulting from following AI suggestions.
